The registration process should take approximately 20 minutes for a new registration; however, for returning students, it may take less.
Flow Forms lets you temporarily step away from the screen during enrollment without losing your progress. Just refresh the page on the same device to continue. But if you switch devices, you'll have to start over.
It is recommended to collect the following information before beginning the online registration process so you can easily upload it to the applicable locations. (Proof of student date of birth, Immunization Record, valid form Government Issued Driver’s License or ID for parent/guardian, Proof of Residency, transcripts, last report card, and legal documents if they apply)
Once the student registration is completed and submitted, you will receive a confirmation in your email. If the office needs additional information, the parent/guardian will be contacted promptly by a school representative.

Virtual enrollment is closed. To join the WC Virtual Academy for the second semester, contact the District Office. An application is required, and you'll be added to a waiting list.
If a student was not enrolled at MCPSD1 for the current school year they are considered a new student
This affidavit is intended to address the requirements of the McKinney-Vento Act. All families are required to complete this section. Please complete for all children from birth to 18 years of age. Your answers will help the district determine what services you or your child may be able to receive. Students who qualify are protected under the McKinney-Vento Act. They may be entitled to immediate enrollment, receive free meals without filling out required applications, free transportation, help with school supplies, or other services.
Temporarily with another person - loss of employment, inability to pay rent, destruction of home, illness, eviction or two or more family units occupy one housing unit, regardless of who owns/rents.
Unsheltered - i.e. motorhomes, RVs, fifth wheel campers, RV parks, cars, campgrounds, parks, garages
Substandard Housing - i.e. no water or electricity, health or safety risks
Permanent Housing - This includes a SINGLE FAMILY situation like own home with or without a mortgage, rental home/apartment, lease-to-purchase housing or trailer house.

Should the district determine that a student is not a resident of the MCPSD1 or does not meet the definition of homeless, MCPSD1 shall notify the school district of residence and the student's parent/guardian and withdraw the student from MCPSD1 (unless an exception under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act applies). Upon receiving notice of withdrawal from MCPSD1, student(s) must immediately enroll in their district of residence. Under North Dakota law, the district of residence is obligated to comply with compulsory attendance reporting requirements, which mandate that administrators report compulsory attendance violations to the local law enforcement agency.

This form is to be filled out ONLY when a parent / guardian is requesting that the student named at the top of the form be transferred from the elementary school assigned according to the policy for school boundaries to a different elementary school. This Boundary Waiver Request form must be submitted on or before May 31, 2024.
If your child is in Special Education and has an IEP, please submit a recent copy of the student's IEP and Evaluation. Having the IEP and Evaluation will speed up the registration process. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.
If your student has a 504, please submit a copy of current plan. Section 504 falls under the management of general education through school staff and parents collaborating to help ensure that students are provided accommodations.
Immigrant students was born outside of the United States and has attended school in the United States for three (3) years or less and may qualify for additional services..
Schools in North Dakota apply for a Refugee School Impact Grant to provide services for newly arrived refugee students. A refugee student left their home country due to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion and has fled to another country to be resettled. Newly arrived is defined as within the last three years.
For refugee students, this is the country you originally fled, not the country you lived in most recently.
A migrant student has moved in the past 36 months with or to join a parent/guardian who is a migratory agricultural worker.
Native American and Alaska Native students are mentioned specifically in the EL definition and may qualify for EL services.
Please keep this information updated with the office staff, including emergency contacts. At least one contact must reside at a different address.

Parent-signed media release forms are NOT needed when: Photographing, videotaping or interviewing students at events that are open to the public such as music, theater or athletic events.
These events normally take place during school day class periods.Examples include incentive or reward time, Oregan Trail, and T4.

North Dakota Century Code 33-06-05-01 requires that students who are admitted to school be required to receive certain immunizations according to the schedule recommended by the state Department of Health. Please attach your student’s most recent immunization record. A School Nurse will review the immunization record. You will be contacted if the student is not up-to-date on required immunizations. Proof of immunization must be provided by October 1, or within 30 days of enrollment if enrolling after October 1, or the student will be excluded from school. Exemptions apply and can be discussed with a School Nurse.
